Late night baseball

Sunday is a day off for station staff, so Saturday night is a chance to relax, hangout, and get to know people.

But before that, the rest of Science Team 2 completed their orientation and we set about locating all of the hardware we are going to need for our calibration runs. We also headed out to find the boreholes drilled by the Saltzman team. The sun was out and it was feeling warm. So warm that I was working without even wearing gloves.

We are nearing the end of the flight period, so the turnover of people is gradually slowing and the population at Summit is starting to feel more settled. The LC-130 had real trouble tacking off today due to the temperature, but after a couple of passes it finally got into the air.

The warm weather also allowed us to head out in front of the big house at midnight to play some baseball. I can now say I have played baseball on top of a glacier under the midnight sun.
