Oh how the big house sways
First full day at Summit.
Yesterday was an interesting day full of briefings, meeting people, and attempting to sleep. The big house is on stilts and so it sways in the wind. Apparently, no on else remembered until I pointed it out so it looks like I am going to get used to it. Everyone is super nice and my bed is warm and comfortable.
I am on a low activity day today so that I can adapt to the altitude. The breathing has been OK, but the headache last night was piercing. Fortunately, it has abated now that I am up and about. The doctor says it can take 48 hours or so for the body to adapt. Something about taking the oxygen to core functions first and changes in body pH that causes brain swelling. Apparently, we should have taken a week to slowly come up to this altitude, not the 2 hours it actually took, but they are keeping an eye on me.
Not much to tell. After lunch I am going to help Science Team 1 pack their equipment so they are ready to go home on Friday.
