The work begins

After a easy morning, in the afternoon I headed into the outdoors to help the drill team pack. A nice easy day is something that the drilling team never gets. A bushing in the drill between the anti-torque and the auger is very stuck. We spent several hours in 20 kn winds, but only -2 C (which is a little worrying. This ice was starting to melt) trying to align the drill hoping that we could find the magic orientation to release the bushing - unfortunately we couldn't.......

Back to the big house to brainstorm and we now have several ideas to try.

The weather is still very windy, visibility is fine on station, but we can't see the horizon, but I am told the weather should be about to improve. Clear blue skies and low winds for the next 10 days (although I am not sure they can confidently predict the weather for tomorrow).
