And so we pack

We are trying to be organized, so we have a master spreadsheet for packing. We are close to having everything ready for the berm (the snow hill they build to store equipment in over winter). We also have a Do Not Freeze (DNF) section in the mechanics shop for everything with a battery, we borrowed some things from the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the rest gets sent back to the USA.

We know where everything is, but we have one more trip into the field scheduled for tomorrow to do some Ground Pulse Radar. There is a theory that we can use radar to measure different layers in the ice and to precision mark our antennas - we will see if that holds true.

We need to be completely packed by the end of Wednesday, so there will be a couple of days before we leave the ice where there won't be much to do. In preparation for this, Jethro made a snowperson (the snow up here is terrible for snowpeople - too dry and then quickly gets compacted to ice. Jethro did a wonderful job (I'll grab a photo at some point - there is an almost complete one at the bottom of this page).
